Hung Temple Festival is held on the 10th day of the third lunar month every year, and is one of the largest and most important festivals of Vietnamese people. The festival is held at the Hung Temple relic site, in Hy Cuong commune, Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, where the history of the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co, parents of 50 Hong Bang children, is recorded. The festival is an opportunity for Vietnamese people to commemorate the contributions of the Hung Kings to building and defending the country. The festival is also an opportunity for people to express gratitude to their ancestors and pray for peace in the country, good weather, and good harvests. Hung Temple Festival takes place with many solemn and meaningful traditional rituals, such as: incense offering ceremony, palanquin procession, sacrifice ceremony... The festival also has many unique cultural activities, such as: Xoan singing, teasing singing , cooking competition of banh chung, banh giay... attracts a large number of tourists from all over to participate. Hung Temple Festival is a traditional festival imbued with the cultural identity of Vietnamese people. The festival is a place to preserve precious cultural and historical values, expressing Vietnamese people's patriotism, solidarity and sense of preserving national identity.
